About Me

Hello! My name is Ava Farrar and I am an editor, motion graphics designer, writer, and filmmaker. I graduated from Washington University in St. Louis in 2024 with a major in Film & Media Studies with a Production Concentration. Additionally, in 2022 I attended the Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (FAMU) where I studied film in every stage of production and wrote, directed, and produced a film shot on 16mm. Since then, I’ve worked as an editor and production coordinator for Mercury Films, a St. Louis-based video production company, working on corporate and narrative projects and honing my on-set and post production skills.

In 2024 I had three short films featured in the St. Louis Filmmakers Showcase—my film “Garbage Man” won Best Cinematography and my film “Thicker Than Blood” won Best Student Film and went on to be featured in the St. Louis International Film Festival. In 2025, I wrote and directed the short film “Sweet Young Thing” starring Ashley Crow and Ella Dixon and am currently in post production on this project. I’m passionate about storytelling in all stages of video production, and am eager to continue to grow as an editor, storyteller, and filmmaker.
